Sara Marija Vella Gafa thinks she doesn’t deserve to be accountable for defending Jamie Vella in Court because she was just filling in for her friend Ishmael Psaila. She had just posted a statement defending Daniel Attard, who is under investigation by the Belgian authorities for receiving a gift from Huawei (a VIP football ticket), and holding undisclosed discussions with them.
This is of course, the mentality and politics of a criminal organisation where anyone is allowed to do anything and there is no accountability. Even if you breach national security behind the back of your people, you can rest assured the Party will back you, because the Party is not interested in what you did, but is only interested in the extent of the damage and electoral consequences of your actions.
If the Belgian police didn’t investigate Daniel Attard, he would have continued taking bribes from Huawei and holding discussions with them in secret. Daniel attard is not only morally corrupt, he is also materially corrupt because his intentions were to make underhanded deals and discussions with an entity that was sanctioned multiple times by Western authorities and that can easily compromise the nation’s security and well-being.
None of this matters. Just like it doesn’t matter if Marija Sara Vella Gafa defends a criminal suspected of bombing a journalist because she “was just doing her job” and filling for her colleague and friend.
There is no morality with these people. It’s only about what they can take home from the Labour Party. And none of them actually ever made any tangible and substantial contribution to the same Labour Party which has fully built their political careers and public image and status.
