Prime Minister to revise contract and explore options: rules out compensation for shareholders

Interviewed earlier today, Prime Minister Robert Abela stated a position that is more open to change on Manoel Island after he said that he will be revising the contract and check whether there have been any breaches of contract.

The Prime Minister once again blamed the previous Nationalist administration for giving out such a generous land concession to MIDI and ruled out compensation for shareholders if any changes are made to the concessions.

The Prime Minister’s comments contrast with those he made last Sunday when he stated that he won’t be the Prime Minister to erase a concession granted by Parliament and that the rights of the bondholders had to be respected.
