Early this morning, at around 5:00 a.m., police were alerted to a violent incident that occurred in an apartment on Triq Spinola, St Julian’s.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers found three men who claimed they had been attacked by another group of three men wielding a sharp, pointed weapon during what appeared to be an attempted robbery. The alleged assailants reportedly fled the scene shortly after the attack.
A medical team responded quickly, and one of the victims – a 22-year-old British man – was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. He was later certified as suffering from serious injuries. The other two individuals, who are also British nationals, were not physically harmed.
Police investigations are ongoing as efforts continue to identify and locate the suspects. An inquiry has been appointed by Magistrate Antoine Agius Bonnici.
