Yesterday, citizens expressed their anger against officers of the Animal Health and Welfare Department after they were videoed dropping a lost dog in the street.
The circumstances of the case are unclear but the the Animal Health and Welfare Department states that currently it has no remaining spaces to keep stray dogs. This problem has been persisting since the Covid pandemic when stray dogs and cats spiked in number.
The procedure dictates that the Animal Health and Welfare Department does not collect strays dogs if it doesn’t have space where to keep them.
We are also expecting further confirmations.
