Nationalist Party convenes General Council to kickstart process of the new leadership race

No new leadership contenders have come forward so far as the Nationalist Party convenes its General Council. The Council was opened by its President, Mark Anthony-Sammut who said that he believes in a Malta that is modern and European and added that the Nationalist Party should be proud of its work and legacy.

Alex Borg is the runner-up in the leadership race and has been preparing for this moment since last year. Ivan J. Bartolo has hinted that he may contest the post but has not made any official confirmation so far

The Council is ongoing.
