Din L-Art Ħelwa hosts party at White Tower in Mellieħa despite being denied a permit

The Malta Ranger Unit which enforces regulations at the public Natura2000 site in Mellieħa is reporting that Din L-Art Ħelwa went ahead and organised a party at the White Tower despite being refused a permit. The Environment & Resources Authority (ERA) also advised against the event.

Din L-Art Ħelwa acts as a custodian to many historical sites and the administration of each site is generally delegated to an administrator or an administrative committee.

Natura2000 site is a national park and a protected site by law. Activities such as off-roading, driving, parties and BBQs are not allowed at the site.

The Malta Ranger Unit stated that Din L-Art Ħelwa informed them the event had been cancelled after it had already been promoted. The event was organised by Bangers.Only and tickets were priced at €20 each.
