The National Blackball Federation (MBF) delivered another thrilling night of top-tier competition as the second leg of the Euro 2025 Tour concluded in style at the Juventus Club Vero Amore. Featuring five hotly contested finals across multiple categories, the event not only crowned new champions but also finalized key selections for Team Malta ahead of the upcoming Blackball Euro Championships in Ennis, Ireland this November.
The Under-15 Final kicked off the night with a nail-biting showdown between Nick Muscat and Dielyn Edwards. The match went the full distance, with Muscat narrowly edging out a 9–8 win in a tense final frame that had spectators holding their breath.
In the Under-23 division, Chaylon Castaldi showcased tactical sharpness and composure beyond his years to defeat Nordai Desira 9–6, earning both the title and a well-deserved place on the National Team.
The Men’s Final brought high-level play as Miguel Amato faced off against Dejan Grech. Amato’s steady performance and mental toughness carried him to a 10–7 victory and solidified his status as one of Malta’s elite players.
Arguably the most dramatic encounter of the evening came in the Seniors 40+ Final, where Stephen Mangion and Joseph Tabone went head-to-head in a gripping match. Mangion ultimately prevailed 10–9 in a heart-pounding finish that highlighted his experience and poise under pressure.
Closing out the evening was the Grand Masters 60+ Final, with Marcel Micallef delivering a composed and strategic performance to defeat Manuel Saliba 8–5, securing the final national team spot up for grabs.
With all five winners now officially selected to represent Malta at the Euro 2025 Championships, the evening was not only a celebration of talent and perseverance, but also a key milestone on the road to international glory.
