Miguel Amato and Dejan Grech reach final of second Blackball European Championship qualifier

Miguel Amato and Dejan Grech have booked their spots in the final of the second blackball qualification tournament for the 2025 European Championship, set to take place in Ireland later this year.

Both players showed consistent form and determination throughout the competition, securing their places in the final with strong performances.

Grech opened his blackball campaign with a dominant 6-1 win over Kerstin Vella. He then defeated Miguel Mizzi 7-5, followed by a convincing 8-2 win over Wayne Pace. In the semi-final, Grech cruised past Jason Micallef with a one-sided 9-0 victory.

Amato began his tournament in the second round and was immediately tested, edging out Joseph Fiteni 6-5. He continued with a 7-4 win over Alessio Magro before narrowly overcoming Clint Azzopardi 8-7 in the quarter-finals. In a tightly contested semi-final, Amato held his nerve to defeat Johan Attard 9-8.

The final is scheduled for Monday evening at the Fuego Speakeasy Arena in Birkirkara, with play set to begin at 7:30pm.
