The Environmental Health Directorate has issued a public health alert regarding the product Lychees in Light Syrup by the brand Spring Happiness, due to excessive levels of the pesticide diflubenzuron. The warning follows information received through the EU’s Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), in line with the Food Safety Act and Regulation (EC) No. 178/2002.
The affected product comes in 567g cans and carries a durability date of 09/07/2026. Consumers are strongly advised not to consume this product, as high levels of diflubenzuron may pose health risks.
