Gozo is set to welcome veteran water polo players from around the world as it hosts its first-ever International Masters Water Polo Tournament from 28 to 30 November 2025.
Organised by Barracudas Sports Club, Balluta Young Boys (BYB), Comino Masters, and Otters ASC, with the backing of VisitMalta and the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA), the tournament will be held at the island’s new Gozo Aquatic Centre. The state-of-the-art indoor venue features an Olympic-size pool and modern facilities.
The event is open to male players aged 40 and over, split into two categories: 40+ and 50+. Teams of up to 15 players will each play a minimum of six matches. The participation fee is set at €125 per player.
Matches will be played under the latest FINA rules, each consisting of a five-minute warm-up and a 25-minute game session.

28 November (Friday): 16:00 – 20:00.

29 November (Saturday): 09:00 – 19:00.

30 November (Sunday): 09:00 – 12:00.
A social event for participants will take place on the evening of 29 November, featuring complimentary finger food and an open bar.
Travel logistics include optional airport transfers from Malta International Airport (MLA) to Gozo, a 20-minute ferry crossing, and daily hotel-to-pool transport. Recommended 3-star hotel options will be available, with further details to be announced. Organisers will also offer excursion packages for participants and guests at an additional cost.
