Following up on press release issued on 22nd June 2025, the Environmental Health Directorate within the Superintendence of Public Health has announced that swimming is once again safe at the previously affected area.
In accordance with the EU Bathing Water Directive, several seawater samples were collected over the past few days from the site in question. Laboratory analysis confirmed that the water quality now meets the required safety standards.
As a result, the earlier advisory against swimming in the area has been officially lifted.
This development comes after precautionary measures were taken due to runoff contamination following heavy rainfall. The Directorate thanks the public for their cooperation and remains committed to ongoing monitoring of bathing water sites across Malta and Gozo.
