Thrilling encounters mark Match Day 5 of BOV water polo Summer League 2025 – eyes now on Match Day 6

The BOV Summer League 2025 continued in full force at the National Pool Complex, Tal-Qroqq, with an action-packed Match Day 5 over the weekend of June 27–28. Water polo fans were treated to a series of exhilarating matches that delivered goals, drama, and high-intensity performances across both evenings.

Friday, 27 June – Dominant Displays and Narrow Escapes

  • Marsaxlokk (MFF Ltd) 18–9 Barracudas
    Marsaxlokk cruised past Barracudas in the day’s opener, showing their class with a commanding 18-9 win. Their sharp attacking play overwhelmed Barracudas, who struggled to find answers.

  • Otters (Nivea) 18–15 Birżebbuġa
    In a high-scoring thriller, Otters edged Birżebbuġa in a tightly contested encounter. The Otters’ offensive unit proved decisive, securing the three points in a 33-goal spectacle.

  • San Ġiljan (MAA Daikin) 17–14 Valletta (Peak Insurance Brokers)
    The closing match saw San Ġiljan hold off a determined Valletta side. Despite Valletta’s persistent efforts, San Ġiljan’s experience and clinical finishing secured the 17-14 victory.

Saturday, 28 June – Last-Minute Winners and Statement Victories

  • Marsaskala (Optima Projects) 14–13 Ta’ Xbiex (Amigos)
    Perhaps the most dramatic match of the weekend, Marsaskala edged Ta’ Xbiex by just one goal in a nail-biting finish. The close contest kept fans on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.

  • Neptunes (Best Gyms Malta) 17–7 Sirens (Build Fitness)
    Neptunes delivered a statement performance with a dominant 10-goal win over Sirens. Their defensive solidity and attacking efficiency were unmatched.

  • Sliema (Frank Salt Real Estate) 21–10 Exiles (Welbee’s)
    Sliema also impressed with a clinical 21-10 dismantling of Exiles. Their cohesive team performance and sharp shooting left no doubt about their intentions for the league title.
