This past weekend, the Malta Table Football Sports Association (MTFSA) was proudly represented at the FISTF Major of Greece. Bormla Subbuteo Club delivered a historic performance in the team competition.
Strong Performances in Individual Events
In the Open Individual category, Mark Gauci advanced to the Last 32, while Jean Tabone and George Ebejer both reached the Last 16. In the Veteran category, Joseph Mifsud progressed to the Barrage stage, John Zammit reached the Quarter-Finals, and Jason Pisani made it all the way to the Semi-Final. This demonstrates the depth of Maltese talent across all levels.
Bormla SC Dominates Team Event
Bormla Subbuteo Club, the sole Maltese team in the competition and one of the tournament favourites, showcased exceptional skill and consistency throughout the team event. In the group stage, they swept all three matches with convincing wins:

4-0 vs Piraeus Lions B.

3-0 vs Noctuas Athens B.

3-1 vs Crimson Horses.
The quarter-final saw them edge past Atlas FTC with a narrow 1-0 victory in a highly tactical match. In the semi-final, they faced Olympia CS and secured a 2-1 win to book their place in the final.
In a tightly contested final against Proteas Athens SC, Bormla SC held their nerve to claim a 2-1 victory, marking a historic moment as they secured their first-ever FISTF Major title. With this win, Bormla SC have consolidated their position at the top of the FISTF World Rankings for the 12th consecutive month.
The championship-winning squad was composed of Josef Camilleri, Jean Tabone, George Ebejer, Bessim Golger, and Jason Pisani.
