15 Government Israeli Ministers call for the annexation of the West Bank

15 Israeli government ministers and the Knesset’s Speaker have demanded the annexation of the West Bank in a written letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The letter describes the West Bank as Judea and Samaria and urges the Prime Minister to take opportunity from US President Donald Trump’s support to annex the West Bank.

Since October 7th, 2023, Israel has intensified its colonisation of the West Bank, with settler attacks and land encroachment on the rise. The IDF has also invaded and occupied several towns and cities in the West Bank, including Jenin, razing large parts of it to the ground in the process.

Meanwhile, daily airstrikes in Gaza have continued including in Khan Younis, Gaza City and Nuseirat camp. Military operations in the West Bank are also ongoing with at least one Palestinian killed in the Nour shams camp and dozens arrested.

A ceasefire between Hamas and Israel is currently being brokered by the US and Qatar but no final decision has been taken yet. The planned recognition of the Palestinian State by European and Arab nations at a UN conference is still in the offing.
