Replying to questions by journalists from Newsbook, Prime Minister Robert Abela said that Kurt Buhagiar will be dismissed from his workplace at LANDS only if he is found guilty in Court.
Kurt Buhagiar is currently facing charges in court for negligence that led to the death of a construction worker at a site in Kordin. The site, which is public land, was handed over to him by Malta Enterprise and the LANDS Department. The development, presumably intended to house a furniture factory, was being carried out without the necessary permits from the Planning Authority
The mother of the slain worker, Isabelle Bonnici, raised questions to the Minister responsible for LANDS, Owen Bonnici, whether this scandal was true. She referred to Kurt Buhagiar as one of those being accused of the involuntary murder of her son, Jean Paul Sofia.
