Body recovered from sea in Xlendi after suspected swimming incident

A lifeless body was recovered early this morning from the sea at Xlendi, Gozo, following what is believed to have been a swimming-related incident.

Preliminary information suggests that the individual found had encountered difficulties while swimming. Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after the discovery.

Authorities have yet to release further details, including the identity of the victim or the exact circumstances surrounding the incident. A magisterial inquiry is expected to be launched, and police investigations are currently underway.
