Sliema double murder: Daniel Muka jailed for life, accomplice sentenced to 40 years

Daniel Muka has been sentenced to life in prison for the brutal 2020 double murder of Christian Pandolfino and Ivor Maciejowski at their Sliema home. His accomplice, Victor Dragomanski, received a 40-year sentence.

The sentencing was handed down on Tuesday morning by Madam Justice Natasha Galea Sciberras, following last month’s unanimous jury verdict finding Muka guilty on all charges. Dragomanski was convicted by a 6-3 jury vote of theft leading to homicide.

Muka’s sentence includes six terms of solitary confinement, the forfeiture of a €10,000 bail deposit, and over €24,000 in court costs. Dragomanski was ordered to pay more than €25,000 in fees.

Prosecutors had called for life imprisonment for both men. While Dragomanski’s lawyer argued for a lighter sentence reflecting his client’s lesser role and the divided jury decision, the court ultimately handed him a lengthy prison term.

The court had previously heard graphic details of the murder scene, with police finding the victims’ bodies in pools of blood—Maciejowski shot once in the head and Pandolfino five times. Their home had been ransacked, and one body had been stripped of jewellery.

A third man, Jesper Kristiansen, was tried separately and is already serving a 40-year sentence for the same crime.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant AGs Maria Francesca Spiteri and Kevin Valletta. Legal representation for the victims’ families was led by Joe and Michaela Giglio. Dragomanski was defended by José Herrera and Alex Scerri Herrera, while Muka was represented by legal aid lawyer Josette Sultana.
