The French frigate Guépratte of the Lafayette class has berthed in the Grand Harbour as France celebrates its national holiday: Bastille Day. The French frigate routinely travels to the east of the Mediterranean in surveillance missions as well as anti-piracy and smuggling missions.
The military parade was held as usual at the Champs-Élysées showcasing France’s military regiments, hardware and also police and first-responders. President Emmanuel Macron was present along with various foreign dignitaries including Indonesia President Prabowo Subianto, Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal al-Ahmad al-Jaber Al Sabah, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
