Early this morning at around 4:30 a.m., police were alerted to a traffic accident in Triq San Anard, Ħal Tarxien.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a 40-year-old man from Tarxien lost control of a Kawasaki motorcycle, causing it to overturn. Riding with him was a 33-year-old woman from Latvia, residing in Marsaskala.
A medical team was called to the scene, and both were transported to Mater Dei Hospital. The man was certified to have sustained serious injuries, while the woman is in critical condition and fighting for her life.
Magistrate Ian Farrugia has launched an inquiry, and police investigations are ongoing.
