Three players have officially secured the final spots in Malta’s national Blackball team following the concluding round of qualifying tournaments for the upcoming European Blackball Championship set to take place in Ennis, Ireland.
In the men’s category, Miguel Mizzi booked his place after a hard-fought 10-7 victory over Clayton Attard in the final. Despite Attard holding an early lead, Mizzi’s composure and consistent performance allowed him to turn the tide and seal the win in a tightly contested match.
The under-23 final saw Neil Caruana overcome Casdy Vella with a 9-5 win. Vella had the upper hand early on, racing to a 4-2 lead, but Caruana drew level at 5-5 and maintained control for the remainder of the match to secure his qualification.
In the over-40s division, Chris Tabone triumphed over Joseph Tabone with a convincing 10-6 scoreline. Chris displayed sharp accuracy and solid form throughout the match, earning a well-deserved spot on the national squad.
With these results, Malta’s full national team roster is now complete across all categories, as preparations continue for the prestigious continental tournament in Ireland.
