Malta secured their first victory at the EuroHockey Championship III with a convincing 5-2 win over Hungary, delivering a strong performance that highlighted their attacking prowess.
After suffering defeats in their opening matches โ 9-1 to Ukraine and a narrow 3-2 loss to Bulgaria โ the team, coached by Chris Attard, responded with a determined display that paid off from the start.
Christ Agius and Thomas Degiovanni each found the net twice, while Keith Bajada also got on the scoresheet. Hungary responded with goals from Benedez Kosari and Martin Csogo.
With this result, Malta finish third in their group and will now proceed to the classification stage of the tournament.
