The finalists of the water polo BOV First Division Knock-Out 2025 have been confirmed following two closely contested semi-finals on Monday, 11 August, at the National Pool Complex. Ta’ Xbiex Amigos will face Marsaxlokk MFF Ltd in Thursday’s final after both sides secured hard-fought victories.
Marsaxlokk MFF Ltd 22 – 11 Marsaskala Optima Projects
Marsaxlokk booked their place in the final with a commanding display against Marsaskala. Led by a balanced scoring effort, Nikola Bogdanovic and Jamie Borg Tabone each struck four goals, while Ryan Galea also netted four. Gergo Kovacs did his best to keep Marsaskala in contention with a seven-goal haul, but Marsaxlokk’s relentless attack saw them take control early, leading 8-3 after the first quarter and never looking back.
Ta’ Xbiex Amigos 11 – 10 Birżebbuġa ASC
The second semi-final was a nail-biting affair, with Ta’ Xbiex edging Birżebbuġa by a single goal in the dying moments. Roko Pelicaric was the standout for Ta’ Xbiex, scoring six goals, while Nicholas Bugelli kept Birżebbuġa in the game with five. The match was level at 10-10 late in the final quarter before Pelicaric’s decisive strike sealed Ta’ Xbiex’s place in the final.

Ta’ Xbiex Amigos and Marsaxlokk MFF Ltd will now meet in the First Division Knock-Out final on Thursday at 18:15. Both teams have shown contrasting paths to the final — Marsaxlokk with free-flowing, high-scoring dominance, and Ta’ Xbiex with gritty, last-gasp determination — setting the stage for an exciting title decider.
