The Malta Football Association will hold an election to fill the vacant Vice President role during its upcoming Ordinary General Assembly on 16 October 2025, in line with Article 27 of the Malta FA Statute.
The vacancy follows the resignation of Dr Maria Azzopardi, who stepped down earlier this month. Dr Azzopardi, elected in March 2024 as the first woman to serve as Malta FA Vice President, was appointed General Secretary in December 2024.
Nominations for the post may be submitted by any Member of the Association at least 19 days before the Assembly, provided candidates meet the applicable eligibility criteria. The elected Vice President will serve until the General Assembly when Officer elections are next due, scheduled for 2028.
Members will receive an internal circular outlining the vacancy and statutory requirements. The election will be overseen by the Electoral Commission appointed by the Malta FAโs Ordinary General Assembly.
