A 53-year-old Belgian man living in Gżira is in critical condition following a serious traffic accident on the Coast Road in Naxxar this afternoon.
The collision occurred at around 4:00pm and involved a Toyota Aygo, driven by a 44-year-old woman from St Paul’s Bay, and a CF Moto motorcycle ridden by the Belgian national.
A medical team was called to the scene, and the motorcyclist was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. He was later certified as suffering from serious injuries and is currently in danger of dying.
Duty Magistrate Monica Borg Galea has been informed and opened a magisterial inquiry, while police investigations into the accident are ongoing.
