President Volodymyr Zelensky is to be accompanied by European leaders tomorrow at his meeting at the White House with President Donald Trump. The leaders include EU Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen Finland’s Prime Minister Alexander Stubb, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, UK Premoer Keir Starmer, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte and Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni. The meeting will focus on the discussion held between President Trump and Vladimir Putin last Friday.
President Zelensky visited the White House last February when he was abused in front of the US press by President Trump and his Vice-President JD Vance. The meeting ended with no conclusion as President Trump pressured President Zelensky to sign a minerals deal. The minerals deal was eventually signed later.
President Trump is now pressuring President Zelensky to capitulate to Russia by giving up land. Press reports state that Vladimir Putin demanded the Donbas region via President Trump, a request which President Zelensky refused after he reiterated multiple times that Ukraine was to give no land concessions to Russia.
European leaders are supporting Ukraine’s position not to cede any territory but European leaders are also praising and supporting President Trump’s efforts to broker a peace deal. EU High Representative Kaja Kallas stated that the EU is working on a 19th sanctions package against Russia.
