President Volodymyr Zelensky makes demands for peace with Russia

Following phone calls with President Donald Trump and European leaders, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has made some demands for peace with Russia and these include: a cessation of hostilities of all type, the release and return of all Ukrainian prisoners and prisoners of war and the return of all abducted children.

A trilateral meeting between the US, Ukraine and Russia is also being planned.

President Zelensky also said that the sanctions on Russia should be increased if Russia avoids the trilateral meeting and refuses an honest end to the war. President Zelensky also reiterated that no land concessions should be made without Ukraine. Yesterday, President Zelensky had reiterated that no land concession were to be given but did not exclude the possibility today.

President Zelensky is to meet with President Trump at the White House on Monday. European leaders have acknowledged President Trump’s leadership in talks between Ukraine and Russia.
