Early Friday morning, at around 5:30am, police were alerted to a traffic accident in Triq Sir Anthony Mamo, Birkirkara.
Initial investigations revealed a collision between a Nissan March and a Honda motorcycle driven by a 57-year-old man from Msida. The motorcyclist received medical assistance on site and was rushed to hospital by ambulance, where he was certified as suffering serious injuries and is currently in danger of dying.
A 25-year-old woman from St Paul’s Bay was inside the Nissan at the time of the accident. She was not physically injured but was taken to hospital due to shock. Police are also searching for a man who was allegedly in the car during the crash but reportedly fled the scene.
Magistrate Monica Borg Galea was informed of the case and appointed an inquiry, while police investigations are ongoing.
