A 41-year-old man from Ħaż-Żebbuġ tragically lost his life on Wednesday afternoon after suffering a shock and falling into a shaft while at work.
The incident occurred at around 12:30pm in Triq il-Pamla, on the outskirts of Għajn Tuffieħa. A medical team and members of the Civil Protection Department were called to the scene, and the victim was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. Sadly, he was certified dead shortly after.
Duty Magistrate Joseph Mifsud has been informed of the case and appointed an inquiry. Investigations by the police, together with the Occupational Health and Safety Authority, are ongoing.
