As part of our growth strategy, we’ve launched a new product: the Risk Report—a series of briefings on immediate and long-term risks identified in our reporting and investigations. We’ve published our first two briefs here and here.
We encourage our readers subscribe so as to have access to the Risk Reports. Subscription will also enable you to read the website without Google Adverts.
Subscriptions for the website are relatively low compared to the readership which was up to 120,000 unique readers in the last month. So far we have received only 300 subscriptions which is much lower than our original and initial target of 1,000 subscribers.
We also need to raise more funding from donations which have been virtually very low compared to our last year despite a growing readership. We also understand that donations dried up throughout the local press sector and we are not the only ones experiencing this.
In particular, we did and still do incur a lot of legal and Court costs as opposed to other media outlets which take virtually no risk.
