Joseph Muscat inflicted serious pathologies on the Labour Party and these problems that will take long, structured de-propaganda efforts to undo. These pathologies were on full display in Labour’s reaction to Alex Borg’s election as PN leader.
Apparently, it’s a good thing that the Labour Party has leaders that stay on as leaders for longer than leaders of the Nationalist Party. Daniel Attard, of course, is too young to remember the seemingly-eternal struggle the Labour Party faced with Alfred Sant as its leader. Many of the young Labour stalwarts today don’t know what it means to be in Opposition and having to fight for power – it was handed to them on a silver platter by Joseph Muscat and this turned them into the same entitled and authoritarian imbeciles who we fought when Labour was still in Opposition.
