Malta Under-21 National Team head coach Davide Mazzotta has confirmed his final 22-man squad ahead of the team’s opening match in the UEFA EURO U21 Qualifiers against Greece.
The match will take place on Tuesday, 9th September 2025, at the Centenary Stadium, Ta’ Qali, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00hrs.
This fixture marks the first of 10 matches for Malta in Group F, where they will also face Georgia, Germany, Latvia, and Northern Ireland throughout the campaign.
Coach Mazzotta initially named a 27-player provisional squad, which has now been narrowed down to 22. Basil Tuma and Alfie Bridgman, who were part of the original list, miss out as they are still recovering from injuries. On a positive note, the team has been boosted by the return of Jake Azzopardi and Keyon Ewurum, both of whom have previously featured for the Malta senior national team.
This campaign will be Coach Mazzotta’s first UEFA EURO U21 Qualifying journey in charge of Malta, marking an important new chapter for the squad’s development. Tickets for the match are currently available for purchase.
