Alex Borg’s major contribution to Maltese politics has so far been his advocacy for the government’s Fort Chambray project. He became more popular when he lied about it and defended himself by saying that he was personally attacked. You can read our story about this issue here, and you can read for yourself if he was “attacked” on a personal basis.
My position on Maltese politics has been very clear and it has not changed – the Labour Party needs to lose power to reform itself. Malta needs a restoration of rule-of-law and to reduce social divisions which have been created by years of hateful Labour Party propaganda against journalists and the free press.
Alex Borg won’t get my vote simply because he is the lesser of the two evils, and I am not even convinced that he is the lesser of two evils with his casual admiration for President Donald Trump. He can only get my vote if he convinces me that he is the right choice as Prime Minister. He has to announce policies that I agree with, especially on the free press and free speech and he has to actually do something to prove himself.
Alex Borg has done absolutely nothing for Malta and Maltese politics. He is being rewarded for style and not substance and I am not going to support blatant admirers of President Donald Trump just because my country has serious problems.
So far, Alex Borg has shown a great sense of entitlement and arrogance as he expects to win the election simply by default. He’s delusional if he thinks that desperation will drive us to support him. If he wants my support, he has to work for it.
