Alex Borg goes on the offensive (for the first time ever)

Yesterday in Parliament, Alex Borg called for an immediate discussion on the government’s corrupt contract to Fortina Group (Michael Zammit Tabona). This is the first time ever that I have seen Alex Borg opposing a corrupt project by the Labour government and it’s also one of his first actions in Parliament following his appointment as Leader of the Opposition. Undoubtedly, this is a positive sign.

I also agree with Jason Azzopardi’s argument that the government should take the parties that signed the contract to Court and recoup the losses – this is what the ex-disgraced Premier Joseph Muscat did with regard to the corrupt property deal with Mark Gaffarena.

The government is going to have a problem to take Michael Zammit Tabona to Court because he is one of the biggest donors to the Labour Party. The Labour Party may lose up to โ‚ฌ100,000 in donations every year if it takes Fortina Group to Court.
