Russian warship cruising the Danish coast as more drones spotted in Denmark

A Russian warship called the Aleksandr Shabalin has been spotted off the Danish coast, around 12 km off the island of Langeland. The warship has its transponders switched off. More unusual drones in Denmark have been spotted earlier this night after the warship was spotted. The Aalborg Air Base and Aalborg Airport are being closed for the night due to drone incursions.

Earlier this week on Monday, Danish airports had to cancel flights as drones entered the Danish airspace and flew over various airports and the Skrydstrup air base. The Danish government said that the incident was a hybrid attack by a professional actor but did not blame Russia directly. However, speaking more in general, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said that Russia is currently testing Europe’s defenses with hybrid attacks and more attacks are expected.ย  French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the incident and said that France is ready to help defend Denmark’s airspace.

Following the drone incident in Denmark, drones also flew to Norway

Russia has been consistently escalating its provocative and hybrid attacks in Europe with various airspace violations including by an attack on Poland with unarmed Gerbera drones.
