Here’s some context to the Minister of Culture’ very disingenuous statements on the makeshift monument for Daphne Caruana Galizia that is in front of the law Courts.
The Minister of Culture, Owen Bonnici used to defend the vandalism by Labour Party supporters of the makeshift monument for Daphne Caruana Galizia before the Courts ruled that Minister Bonnici was breaching the human rights of protestors for ordering government workers to remove the monument.
His reason for removing the makeshift monument was that the population was offended by the monument. His comments were recorded here in this article. The Minister’s comments were made in response to this letter.
The Labour Party fueled hatred against Daphne Caruana Galizia with relentless disinformation and propaganda against her and then blamed external forces for its own actions: typical authoritarian behaviour.
The makeshift monument is still occassionally vandalised by Labour Party supporters.
