A 76-year-old man from Santa Luċija was seriously injured on Friday afternoon while operating farming machinery in a field in Triq ir-Ramlija, Ħal Kirkop.
Police were called to the scene at around 3pm after receiving reports that the man had been hurt while using a motorised cultivator.
A medical team provided assistance on site before the man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, where he was later certified to be suffering from serious injuries.
Members of the Civil Protection Department were also present to assist during the operation.
Police investigations are ongoing.
