The sister of Chantelle Chetcuti has sent a letter to the press lamenting about the fact that she still sees the murder suspect of her sister in her day-to-day life and has reiterated her calls for a reform in bail-law. Justin Borg, the suspected murderer of Chantelle Chetcuti, and the father of her two children is still out on bail with no date set for his trial, five years after the murder.
In the shocking letter that Stacey Camilleri sent to the press, she said that the murder suspect has been stalking her and her husband, even driving by her husband’s workplace and parking nearby in a street nearby their residence. She says that the stalking continues to this day. She also sees him near her relativesโ home, where he works at a shop.
Stacey Camilleri says she asked the relevant ministersโHome Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri and Justice Minister Jonathan Attardโto implement bail reform, highlighting the seriousness of her case, but she was met with empty rhetoric and no action to address this miscarriage of justice.
Chantelle Chetcuti was stabbed in ลปabbar on the evening of 2 February 2020 and died shortly after in hospital.
