Another individual has been arrested in connection with a series of motorcycle thefts reported across various localities in recent weeks.
On Sunday evening, Police were informed that a person was allegedly attempting to steal a motorcycle in Dawret Ħal Tmin, Żejtun. Officers immediately went on site, where they discovered a motorcycle hidden behind a tree with visible damage to its ignition.
A search was launched in the surrounding area, during which officers spotted a man in Triq id-Daħla ta’ San Tumas, Żejtun, matching the description of the suspect. The man, a Lithuanian national, was arrested on the spot.
He was brought before Magistrate Nadine Sant Lia at around 10:30am today.
This latest arrest follows weeks of investigations into stolen motorcycles, which have so far led to the arrest of at least five other individuals, with ongoing court proceedings related to these cases.
