Three arrested in ongoing police crackdown on stolen motorbike ring

Ongoing police investigations into a criminal network linked to motorcycle thefts across several localities have led to the arrest of three more suspects.

On Thursday afternoon, officers carrying out surveillance stopped a 19-year-old man who was riding a reported stolen motorbike. He was immediately arrested. Further inquiries revealed that a 14-year-old boy was also allegedly involved in the theft and was arrested shortly after.

Police later moved to a garage in Ħal Safi, where they apprehended an 18-year-old man found working on two more motorbikes, which were later confirmed to be stolen. Searches uncovered an additional five motorcycles suspected to have been stolen.

All three suspects are being held at the Floriana Police Lock-Up and were to appear in court today at noon before Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit.
