Pisani triumphs in Belgium as Valletta and Bormla shine in table football team event

Jason Pisani claimed top honours in the table football Veterans category at the Grand Prix of Eugies in Belgium after an outstanding performance throughout the tournament. In a thrilling final, Pisani defeated Daniel Scheen of Belgium 2-1 to secure the gold medal, following a convincing 2-0 semi-final win over Olivier Pere, also from Belgium.

In the Open category, Bormla Subbuteo Club player Bessim Golger reached the semi-finals, contributing to a strong showing by the Maltese contingent. The club concluded the individual competitions with one gold and one bronze medal.

Bormlaโ€™s success continued in the team event, where they advanced to the final after an impressive run in the group and knockout stages. The Maltese side was eventually defeated 1-3 by Valletta SC, taking home the silver medal.

Bormla topped Group 1 with four wins out of four โ€” defeating Langton Green (England) 4-0, Eugies B (Belgium) 3-1, Elm Aye SC (Belgium) 4-0, and Hennuyer C (Belgium) 3-0. In the quarter-finals, they overcame Hennuyer 2-0, before edging past Stembert in the semi-finals after extra time, with the match and goal difference level.

The Bormla team was made up of captain Jason Pisani, George Ebejer, Josef Camilleri, and Belgian players Bessim Golger and Vincent Guyaux.

The next challenge for the team will be the ECSTFA Champions League in Haversham, Great Britain.
