The eagerly anticipated fixtures for the final phase of the Opening Round of the YoHealth Malta Premier League were officially announced on Friday — and football fans are in for some thrilling matchups.
Defending champions Ħamrun Spartans will open their Top Six campaign with a fiery derby clash against neighbouring rivals Valletta, while current leaders Floriana begin their run against Marsaxlokk.
At present, Floriana lead the standings with 23 points, sitting just one point ahead of both Ħamrun Spartans and Valletta. The top two sides at the end of the Opening Phase will progress to challenge for the league title later this season, adding further weight to the upcoming fixtures.
Kick-off Dates and Format
The second phase of the Opening Round will begin over the weekend of November 22–23, and will simultaneously mark the start of the Bottom Six competition.
Both sections will conclude on January 10–11, setting the stage for an explosive final weekend that will see Valletta face arch-rivals Floriana, while Ħamrun Spartans meet Sliema Wanderers.
