Police investigations into an alleged drug trafficking network have led to the arrest of two men and a woman following days of surveillance.
Early Friday morning, officers raided a residence in San Ġwann believed to be used for drug preparation. Inside, they arrested a 40-year-old man and discovered around 300 grams of cocaine divided into several small packets, ready for sale. Various drug-related items were also seized. The drugs are estimated to have a street value exceeding €20,000.
Shortly before the raid, a 41-year-old woman who had left the same residence was stopped and arrested in Marsa.
At the same time, police detained a 32-year-old man in Bormla who was allegedly distributing drugs prepared in San Ġwann. A search at his Valletta residence uncovered about €6,000 in cash and a quantity of jewellery.
Further searches in a San Ġwann garage led to the seizure of two vehicles – a Mercedes and a Porsche Cayenne – as part of the ongoing investigation.
Magistrate Monica Borg Galea is leading the inquiry. The three suspects are expected to be arraigned in court today at around 11:30 a.m. before Magistrate Nadine Sant Lia.
