Women’s Futsal: St George’s and Zero Sei stay level at the top After Matchweek 2

While the men’s futsal league pauses for European and national team duties, the spotlight this weekend was firmly on the Women’s Futsal League, with three entertaining matches marking Matchweek 2.

St Andrews Futsal claimed their first win of the season with a 4–2 victory over Parr Mela Rockets. St Andrews raced to a commanding 4–0 lead before Parr Mela mounted a late fightback, though it wasn’t enough to overturn the deficit.

St George’s Futsal maintained their perfect start to the campaign, defeating Luxol Sports Club Futsal Argus 5–3. The Bormla side’s second straight win highlights their growing dominance, as they remain joint leaders of the league.

Meanwhile, Zero Sei Futsal continued their impressive form with a 4–1 triumph over Swieqi United Futsal LEC07. Four different scorers found the net in a strong team display, keeping Zero Sei level with St George’s at the summit—only separated by goal difference.

After two rounds, St George’s Futsal and Zero Sei Futsal share first place with six points each, followed by Luxol Sports Club Futsal Argus and St Andrews Futsal on three. Swieqi United Futsal LEC07 and Parr Mela Rockets Futsal are still seeking their first points of the season.

Looking ahead to Matchweek 3, St Andrews face Luxol Sports Club Futsal Argus on Tuesday, 11 November, before Zero Sei Futsal meet Parr Mela Rockets Futsal on Wednesday. Later that same evening, St George’s Futsal will take on Swieqi United Futsal LEC07, as both title contenders aim to keep their winning streaks intact.
