The lead-investigator of the Magisterial Inquiry about the Vitals and Steward Health Care public hospitals concession, Jeremy Harbinson, will not be compelled by the UK authorities to testify in the court case in Malta. According to Times of Malta, the Maltese Prosecutor, Sean Xerri De Caro testified in Court today that Jeremy Harbinson presented an affidavit to the UK authorities explaining the reasons why he can’t testify in the court case.
In turn, the UK authorities informed the Attorney-General in Malta that Jeremy Harbison will not be returning to Malta and that this case is closed.
Jeremy Harbinson, a UK citizen, has previously refused to come to Malta citing that he feared for his life. His lack of cooperation with the Courts risks jeapordising the whole case against previous Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and others implicated in the fraudulent public hospitals concessions deal.
The Attorney-General is exploring “all legal avenues” to compel Jeremy Harbinson to testify in Court. The case in Court seems to be stalled due to lack of cooperation by Jeremy Harbinson.
