A 45-year-old woman from Sliema was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital on Sunday at around 7pm after being injured in a traffic accident in Triq Sir Adrian Dingli, Sliema.
According to initial police investigations, the woman was struck by a QJMotor MTX125 motorcycle driven by a 45-year-old Bangladeshi man who also resides in Sliema.
A medical team provided first aid at the scene before the victim was taken to hospital by ambulance, where she was certified as suffering serious injuries and is currently in critical condition.
Magistrate Joe Mifsud has been informed of the case and appointed an inquiry, while police investigations are still underway.
