Europe continues its capitulation on Ukraine

The latest European trend of capitulating to the US-Kremlin Pact over Ukraine is ongoing with Italy now declaring it is set to leave the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) programme. The Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani stated that Italy does not intend to participate in the programme while the US conducts “peace talks” with Russia.

The PURL is the programme in which Europe purchases US weapons for Ukraine.

Italy’s position goes against the European mainstream which is putting more pressuring on Russia to strengthen Ukraine’s position at the diplomatic table.

Separately, Finland’s Prime Minister Petteri Orpo said that Finland is not ready to provide security guarantees to Ukraine in case Russia attacked it again.

The EU Commission is currently scrambling to issue a law for Ukraine’s reparations loan from the frozen Russian assets with Belgium stating that it won’t accept the law unless guarantees are shared collectively. Diplomatic sources confirmed with The Maltese Herald that there is wide agreement on collective sharing of guarantees. However, Belgium is still opposing the proposed law saying it is not yet satisfied with the proposed text.

There were no results registered with US-Russian talks in Moscow.
