A 48-year-old man from Kerċem was seriously injured on Thursday evening after his motorcycle caught fire, causing him to lose control and crash in Triq l-Imġarr, Għajnsielem.
The incident occurred at around 7:15 p.m. Preliminary police investigations indicate that the rider was on a Kawasaki motorcycle when, for reasons still unknown, the bike burst into flames, leading to the accident.
A medical team assisted the man on site before he was taken to the Gozo General Hospital by ambulance. He was later certified as suffering from serious injuries.
Police investigations are ongoing.
