Mġarr United maintained their unbeaten league record but dropped their first points of the season after being held to a goalless draw by title rivals Hibernians, while Swieqi United capitalised with a dominant victory to cut the gap at the top.
Mġarr United 0–0 Hibernians
Mġarr United were forced to settle for a point in a tightly contested encounter against Hibernians, just days after the Greens defeated the Paolites to lift the Malta FA Jubilee Cup at the National Stadium.
Both sides cancelled each other out in a disciplined and evenly matched contest, with few clear-cut chances at either end. Despite the stalemate, Ryan Vella’s side extended their unbeaten run and remain at the summit of the standings with 28 points.
However, their lead was reduced following Swieqi United’s convincing win later in the day. Swieqi now move up to second place on 22 points, while Hibernians slip to third on 20, eight points behind the leaders.
Valletta 0–6 Swieqi United
Swieqi United produced a ruthless display as they swept aside Valletta with a resounding 6–0 victory.
Serbian midfielder Andela Kricak was the star of the show, scoring four goals inside the opening 35 minutes to put the contest beyond doubt before half-time. Swieqi added two more goals after the break to complete a commanding performance.
The result keeps Swieqi firmly in the title race, while Valletta remain anchored at the bottom of the table with just one point.
Birkirkara 3–0 San Ġwann
Birkirkara strengthened their grip on fourth place with a convincing 3–0 win over San Ġwann, pulling clear of their rivals with a strong finish.
Patricia Lamanna broke the deadlock on 70 minutes before Japanese midfielder Momo Ueda took centre stage, scoring twice — including a goal deep into stoppage time — to seal the victory.
San Ġwann remain in fifth place on four points as Birkirkara continue to consolidate their position in the upper half of the table.
