Malta is the only country in the EU with no forest growth

According to the latest Eurostat statistics, Malta is the only country in the EU with zero first growth in the year 2023. The EU country with the highest forest growth is Portugal with an increase of up to 11%. Portugal was followed by Denmark with 7.6% and Ireland with 6.8%.

The countries with the lowest growth in forest, besides Malta, were Cyprus with just 1.6% followed by Estonia and Bulgaria with both at 1.8%.
