Ħamrun Spartans sweep past Victoria Hotspurs to reach FA Trophy Last 16

Ħamrun Spartans booked their place in the Round of 16 of the FA Trophy with a dominant 5–0 victory over Victoria Hotspurs, delivering a polished and professional display at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

The champions wasted little time in asserting their authority and took the lead as early as the 5th minute, when Shaisen Attard found the net to give Ħamrun an early advantage. The goal set the tone for a match largely controlled by the Spartans, who dictated possession and tempo throughout the opening half.

Despite their dominance, Ħamrun had to wait until after the restart to fully put the tie beyond doubt. The breakthrough came in the 61st minute, with Joseph (Essien) Mbong doubling the lead after a sustained spell of pressure.

Just two minutes later, the match was effectively settled when Ryan Camenzuli made it 3–0 in the 63rd minute, capitalising on the Spartans’ attacking momentum and leaving Victoria with little chance of a response.

Ħamrun continued to press forward and were rewarded with two more goals late on. N’Dri Koffi added the fourth in the 72nd minute, before Jovan Cadenovic completed the rout just a minute later, scoring in the 73rd minute to round off an emphatic win.

Victoria Hotspurs struggled to cope with Ħamrun’s intensity and depth, and while they battled gamely, they were unable to break down a well-organised Spartans defence or stem the flow of attacks.

The comprehensive victory underlined Ħamrun Spartans’ attacking strength and squad depth, as they progress confidently to the next round of the FA Trophy with momentum firmly on their side.
